A garden design in January 2020 for local Cheltenham-based charity CCP to help them to transform a neglected but substantial back garden into a safe and creative place for children. The challenge was to design a scheme that could be built on a minimal budget and would be inexpensive and easy to look after in the future.
The brief required the retention of several mature trees and other existing features whilst creating exciting spaces for children to grow flowers and vegetables, play and exercise their imagination. Activities such as family socialising and practical requirements including an area to dry washing for a large family were also important criteria.
It is hoped that the garden project will be financed through a mix of crowdfunding and sponsorship and the work will be carried out by volunteer groups local to Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.
