My interest in garden design and gardening dates back to growing up in part of a garden laid out by the legendary Gertrude Jekyll. In 2019 I fulfilled a long-held dream and took a diploma course in Creative Garden Design and Planting at the Cotswold Gardening School, gaining distinction, which gave me confidence to begin offering advice professionally to clients.
I’d like to think that colour, creativity and attention to detail are the hallmarks of my approach. Visualising my designs clearly in my mind, I’ll often render them as artist’s impressions so that clients can see easily how their wish list will translate from initial concept into their finished garden.
I always aim to be flexible, sensitive to clients’ requirements and to keep everyone up to speed at all stages of their project. It is especially rewarding when clients want a collaborative relationship, but not everyone has the time to be closely involved in the process, in which case you need to know your trust is well-placed, and that your expectations in terms of timescale, budget and the finished garden will be met.
